Three Golden Cranes
by Susan J. Preston
Three regal sandhill cranes appear as if cast in gold, reflecting the colors of a stunning sunrise in Bosque del Apache, New Mexico.
Three Golden Cranes Fine Art Print
The stunning light in this image never ceases to amaze me and serves as a reminder of how every visit to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge offers something unexpected and unique.
What also stands out to me is the shift from sparkling gold tones that seem to leap off the paper into the baby blue hues that hold the reflections of the cranes’ bodies.
This photography has a formal quality, hearkening to traditional Japanese paintings – it’s almost as if they are posing for a formal portrait or hieroglyph that aims to show what perfect cranes in profile look like.
And finally, the one fine detail – the third crane gently cocks her head to the side looking up toward other members of the flock taking flight just above her.
This image brings a luxurious energy and elegance to any room – an enchanting image for the enchanted home.
